Slayer is an American thrash metal band. Composed of guitarist Kerry King, bassist and vocalist Tom Araya, and drummer Paul Bostaph. Slayer are one of the "big four" of thrash metal alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. In May 2nd, 2013,The founder, Jeff Hanneman (guitarist), has died of liver cirrosis, while he was around his family. Jeff was only 49 years old. Jeff also contracted a spider biteback in Spring 2011. As of the replacement, touring member Gary Holt will still be the touring member for the band. In Februrary, original member Dave Lombardo was fired from the Australian part of the tour with Slayer, due to money issue between him and the band. As of May, it was shown that Dave was fired from the band(his third absence overall) and former member Paul Bostaph took his place on the drums again.
