Leather Charm was a short-lived American heavy metal band from Downey, California, featuring James Hetfield, Hugh Tanner, Ron McGovney, and Jim Mulligan.
James, Hugh, and Jim had previously played together in Phantom Lord.
James and Ron later played together in Metallica.
It was noteworthy as a forerunner to the successful thrash metal band Metallica. The group rehearsed New Wave of British Heavy Metal covers and original material for a period of months in 1981.
