Enter Sandman is the first song and lead single off of the Black Album.
About
It deals with nightmares. "Enter Sandman" is arguably Metallica's most popular song to date. One of the reasons for the popularity is the association with sports. For example, this song was played when the Yankee Mariano Rivera would come to the plate, as they would say this meant it was lights out. When Metallica played in Yankee Stadium, on September 14th, 2011, they made sure to play "Enter Sandman." They commented about how they had to play it being in Yankee Stadium and that they didn't want to be in the stadium of the losing team-Mets Stadium.
This song is also a playable track in Rock Band and Guitar Hero: Metallica.
