Gloomy Log N°1 - Dec 11 2023
Well, it's been a couple of months since I had activity in this wiki, I've been contemplating a lot on the last 5 years, since I started using Fandom (when it was still called Wikia XD), I don't have a lot of free time as I used to after graduating High School, a lot of burnout from being active in so many wikis and thinking what to do the next day, then you retired from that wiki after 3-4 years, ect.
While I'm not retiring from the wiki anytime soon, I'll still be here and there, maybe if someone is interested on helping out, I'll be glad. So, I guess this is the first blog I've ever posted in here, so enjoy it :P
Also, I just noticed that this wiki is now currently 16 years old, so we missed the 10th anniversary celebration.

Metal Wiki Discord
So I got bored and I noticed that a lot of other big wikis had a Discord page. In an attempt to have some more talk between the active users we have I have created a Discord server for all things Metal Wiki. It will not be limited to just the Metallica "fandom" page, but any metal community on "fandom" (I still prefer Wikia damnit!) that wishes to join the little coalition that we have created. From the Metallica page to the Black Sabbath one.

I'm not as familiar with the singles as I am with the albums.

frustrating
Doing research on Metallica singles and home videos is getting rather frustrating.
However, I'm learning alot about Metallica.

I saw that a page on 2 of One was previously created, but deleted. I haven't been able to determine why it was deleted, so I'm hesitant to create another one right now.

Also, two Metallica EP pages have single infoboxes, which doesn't make sense to me.

Singles
I'm having to do research on Metallica's singles.
This is still a weak point in my Metallica knowledge, especially the post-ReLoad singles. I'm not even very familiar with Metallica's post-ReLoad ALBUMS.
Upcoming domain change
So as the few of you who actually edit here may have seen, Fandom is starting to move some of the communities over from the Wikia domain name to the Fandom domain. We've been apparently chosen as one of the first communities to be a part of this transition. Full details here.
Since they're doing a major transition on their part it's vital that we provide them feedback for any problems that may arise from this change. Hopefully this will all go smoothly and everything will be fine so we can get back to making this the best spot for all things Metallica.

I recently heard Ron McGovney's 82 Garage Demo, the Whisky Audition Tape, and the Metal Up Your Ass live recording.
I think there are some more live recordings with Dave Mustaine I've yet to hear.
I'm still experiencing technical difficulties.

I haven't seen any articles on Metallica's demos.
Is this on purpose, or is it OK for me to start articles on these demos?
Thoughts on the tracklisting update.
So, I'm sure some of you have seen the update to the tracklisting for the deluxe edition. To be honest I'm a little be peeved, I really wanted to hear the demo versions of the songs. I mean Demo Magentic was amazing, just to see the mindset of where the guys were towards to the beginning of the process of writing for the Death Magentic album felt amazing. I always love to hear demos of songs I love, it helps me work out some stuff that I'm having trouble with when working on my own songs.
Now... well now I just feel robbed, yeah the songs we're getting are cool... but they're also the same songs we've heard a million times. I can't even begin to describe how many times I've listend to For Whom the Bell Tolls or Creeping Death. I mean they'r…
Hardwired...To Self-Destruct anticipation
So, it has come.
The new album has been announced and everyone is happy. Dear god, that riff was amazing, only to think I was having a shit day until I heard that song.
So what is everyone's hopes for album? If the entire album is as good as Hardwired, then I have no doubts it'll be top five material for my favorite albums list.
My Metallica Story
When I was a little girl (like 5 to 10 years old), I had this guy cousin I looked up to named David. David was about 5 years older than me, and I thought he was so cool. We would go over to their house and I would go to his room which was decorated in black and he had a pet snake. It was David that first liked heavy metal and introduced me to it. Was on facebook eariler and saw gibson guitars posted this picture and asked which would you choose The Flying V or The Explorer. I also saw some of the comments saying "You're choice Kirk Hammett or James Hetfield". So my question you guys is what is you're preffered guitar The Flying V (Kirk) or The Explorer (James)?
